
Blue Nature-Based Solutions Week

The Blue Nature-Based Solutions Week, will be hosted by the project MaCoBioS (macobios.eu) with the support of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program and UNESCO, promises to be a groundbreaking gathering of experts, policymakers, and practitioners committed to advancing marine (blue) Nature-based Solutions.

Over two days, we will engage in meaningful discussions and workshops focusing on the protection, restoration, and management strategies necessary to tackle the urgent challenges facing marine and coastal socio-ecological systems. Highlights of the event include:
· Keynote Presentations on the role of blue Nature-Based Solutions in climate change mitigation and adaptation, and biodiversity conservation.
· Stakeholder Voices session, emphasising the needs and priorities of various stakeholders in marine conservation.
· Interactive Thematic Workshops exploring protection measures, restoration initiatives, societal approaches, blue finance, and governance.
· Exhibition showcasing the intricate relationships between biodiversity, climate change, and ecosystem services, and the use of blue Nature-based Solutions.
· Networking Opportunities – connect with fellow experts and stakeholders throughout the activities and planned convivial moments.
As we approach the Third UN Ocean Conference in June 2025, this event is crucial for maintaining momentum in international ocean governance through collaborative sessions designed to bridge the gap between science and policy, ensuring that our collective efforts lead to actionable solutions.
