As part of a strategic effort to foster innovation and drive more effective Nature-based Solutions (NbS) across multiple sectors, the  NBS4EU Cluster composed of seven NbS European projects from the  HORIZON-MISS-2022-CLIMA-01 Call.

ARCADIA, CARDIMED, DESIRMED, LAND4CLIMATE,  MOUNT RESILIENCE, NATALIE and NBRACER have enhanced its efforts to align and share information across joint partners and regions.  NBS4ALL will focus on creating collaboration and synergies, not only within its own projects but also with similar european initiatives

Strengthening Collaboration Across Projects and Regions

The seven european projects under NBS4EU  have been working towards developing innovative nature-based approaches in different contexts. While each project has its own unique focus—these projects share common objectives that make collaboration essential. Going forward,  NBS4EU will emphasize joint activities, ensuring that partners can align their efforts and share findings more efficiently.

NBS4EU will organize thematic working groups that cut across specific sectors These groups will enable project participants to share methodologies, technical approaches, and practical experiences, helping to avoid duplication of efforts while maximizing the effectiveness of their solutions. By aligning their actions, the six projects will create a stronger collective impact and contribute to broader regional and global goals.

Creating Synergies with Other Projects

Beyond internal collaboration, NBS4EU will actively seek to build synergies with other NbS-related projects that share similar objectives. The aim is to extend the network beyond the original six projects and engage with new partners from different countries, institutions, and sectors. This will create opportunities for knowledge exchange, joint research, and co-development of NbS strategies, further increasing the Cluster’s potential to influence environmental policy and practice.

In the near future, NBS4EU plans to identify complementary projects and foster partnerships through joint conferences, webinars, and research collaborations. These events will bring together stakeholders from various NbS initiatives to explore potential synergies, allowing different projects to learn from one another and build on each other’s successes. The Cluster aims to become a key hub for NbS collaboration, catalyzing broader innovation across the field.

Joint Conferences and Webinars: Platforms for Engagement

To facilitate these collaborations, NBS4EU will organize a series of joint conferences and webinars in the coming years. These events will serve as key platforms for exchanging research findings, project updates, and successful case studies across regions and sectors. The conferences will include participants from the six original projects, as well as representatives from other NbS projects, fostering cross-project collaboration.

The thematic focus of these events will be designed to address specific environmental challenges. By bringing together experts from various fields, the conferences and webinars will provide a fertile ground for exploring innovative approaches and accelerating the implementation of NbS solutions at a larger scale. These interactions will also enable regions with multiple ongoing NbS projects to share their unique insights and successes.

Identifying Regions for Impact Measurement

A key goal of NBS4EU will be identifying regions actively involved in two or more NbS projects to measure their collective impact. This approach will not only track the benefits of individual projects but also assess how combined efforts can lead to broader, more sustained environmental and social improvements.
