NBRACER took part in the launch of the NBS4EU Webinar Series, an event organised by MountResilience that brought together seven flagship European projects funded under the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change: MountResilience, LAND4CLIMATE, ARCADIA, NBRACER, DesirMED, CARDIMED, and NATALIE.
The introductory webinar marked the official start of the NBS4EU Webinar Series and strengthened collaboration within the NBS4EU cluster , which united projects working on NbS across diverse biogeographical contexts in Europe. The network shared a common objective of supporting climate resilience and systemic transformation in line with the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change.
The webinar focused on fostering a shared understanding of Nature-based Solutions, a concept that, despite increasing recognition, was often interpreted differently across regions and sectors. Through expert presentations, project experiences, and open discussion, participants explored how NbS could be effectively implemented and scaled to address climate adaptation challenges.
The programme included contributions from the European Commission, with a policy perspective on the role of NbS in the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change, as well as a keynote presentation by IUCN on understanding Nature-based Solutions. Representatives from all participating projects shared their experiences, followed by an open networking session that encouraged exchange and dialogue among participants.
Represented by its interim coordinator Michiel Blind, NBRACER welcomed the opportunity to participate in the event and exchange knowledge with fellow European initiatives. The webinar series launch set the basis for continued collaboration within the NBS4EU Cluster and for advancing Nature-based Solutions across Europe.
