During the Christmas holidays, visitors to Klimatorium in Lemvig are invited to discover how nature-based solutions (NBS) can help build climate resilience through a special exhibition dedicated to the NBRACER project.

As the regional coordinator for NBRACER in Denmark, Klimatorium is using the holiday period to engage citizens of all ages in conversations about climate adaptation, local landscapes, and the role of nature in addressing future climate challenges.

Exploring climate resilience through the landscape of Lemvig

As part of the exhibition, Klimatorium has created a detailed landscape model of Lemvig and the surrounding area. The model invites visitors to explore the local landscape and discuss how nature-based solutions can strengthen resilience to climate change.

Using interactive cue cards, participants are encouraged to reflect on specific landscape features and consider possible future scenarios. They can explore questions such as how nature can help manage climate impacts, how communities can adapt, and how innovative solutions can support a more climate-resilient future.

The activity offers a hands-on way for visitors to understand how NBRACER works with nature-based solutions across Europe and how these approaches can be applied in local contexts.

Learning through play and creativity

To make the NBRACER experience accessible and engaging for everyone, Klimatorium has also developed a range of activities for visitors.

Families and children can test their knowledge with an NBRACER-themed crossword puzzle or complete a classic jigsaw puzzle that tells the story of the project. Visitors are also invited to explore creative activities, including making artwork from recycled materials.

In addition, the exhibition features the international art initiative “Voices of the Youth – connection to nature”, showcasing stories and artworks created by young people from around the world. Visitors can explore the artworks and take part in judging the contributions.

A Christmas invitation for the whole family

The special NBRACER activities are part of Klimatorium’s Christmas programme, alongside the permanent exhibition Climate Without Borders. Admission is free, and visitors can experience climate-related activities throughout the holiday season.

Klimatorium welcomes visitors every day until 4 January 2026 from 10:00 to 15:00, except on 24 December and 31 December.

With around 80 visitors per day on average, Klimatorium hopes to reach many people during the holiday period and create meaningful conversations about how nature-based solutions can support communities facing climate challenges.

“By bringing NBRACER into the exhibition space, we want to give visitors the opportunity to understand how nature-based solutions work, why they matter, and how they can contribute to a more resilient future,” says the Klimatorium team.

Whether visitors come to explore the landscape game, solve climate puzzles, discover international youth perspectives, or simply enjoy a different kind of Christmas experience, there will be opportunities for everyone to learn more about climate adaptation and the power of working with nature.

Klimatorium looks forward to welcoming visitors and sharing the story of NBRACER during the Christmas holidays.
