NBRACER Regional Workshop – Porto

On July 4, Porto will present the NBRACER project in the region. This landmark event will enroll major stakeholders, including universities, Municipal departments and companies, NbS developers, neighbor entities in a collaborative effort to transform Porto’s approach to climate resilience.
Engaging Key Stakeholders
The NBRACER Regional Workshop, will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders integral to the project’s success. Universities will play a crucial role in providing research and expertise, while municipal companies and departments will contribute their local knowledge and resources. Licensing entities will ensure that all proposed actions comply with regulatory standards, facilitating a smooth implementation process.
Addressing Climate Adaptation Challenges
During the event, organizers will share the main climate adaptation challenges that Porto faces, highlighting the pressing need for innovative solutions. Attendees will learn about specific actions planned to mitigate these challenges, fostering a collaborative environment where ideas and strategies can be openly discussed and refined.
Quinta de Salgueiros: A Model for the Future
One of the highlights of the NBRACER project will be the utilization of Quinta de Salgueiros as a pilot site. This location will serve as a NBS (Nature-Based Solutions) lab or biolab, showcasing what can be implemented, tested, and potentially scaled up across the region. Quinta de Salgueiros will act as a living example of sustainable practices, demonstrating how nature-based solutions can effectively address urban climate challenges.
Partner Engagement and Feedback
An essential component of the NBRACER Regional Workshop in Porto, will be listening to partners about their concerns, ideas, and expectations for the site as a NBS lab.
