The 12th INBO General Assembly, dedicated to water management by basin in the world, took place in Bordeaux, France from October 7th to 10th. Around 350 people from 60 countries around the world gather to enjoy a very rich program, inspiring moments of exchange, exceptional friendly times and visits allowing to discover the city of Bordeaux differently.
The Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region welcomed the participants within the Regional Council whose President Alain Rousset recalled the strong partnership between the State and the communities on water management. The Nouvelle-Aquitaine region is particularly confronted with the challenges of water sharing,
exacerbated by climate change. Thus, faced with this ecological, economic and public health issue, the political will is that water be the common thread of the regional roadmap Néo Terra, dedicated to transitions.
These issues related to water resource management were very present throughout these days, but also the tools and measures for adapting to climate change. It is particularly in this theme that Nature-based Solutions were addressed. The NBRACER project was presented, demonstrating the wealth of international cooperation, like the existing cooperation within the INBO. Also, the two neo-Aquitaine demonstrators were exposed, giving a more concrete approach to actions on the ground.
This week allowed us to learn about other projects, exchange with actors working on the same subjects in different environments and to learn from all these actions allowing a better adaptation of our territories.
